Give Joy This Holiday Season
As the year winds down, the holiday season invites us to reflect on the importance of community and the privilege of being surrounded by loved ones. While challenges persist, this season is an ideal time to spread hope and give back to those facing difficult times. At Genesis, we’ve always valued supporting our community, and this year, that commitment feels especially significant.
Did you know that nearly 70% of food donations are made during the holidays? For countless Albertans, organizations like the Calgary and Airdrie Foodbanks, the Veterans Foodbank, the Women In Need Society, the Calgary & District Foster Parents Association, and the Trellis Society are vital resources. This is our chance to come together and contribute to the efforts of these organizations, helping Albertans thrive through the winter season.
That’s why from now until December 31st, 2024, we will be making a donation in your name to a local charity. They will receive a $1,000 donation for every townhome or $2,500 for every single-family home sold.
The charities that you can choose to donate to have been strong leaders in the community and have made a difference to Albertans. The six charities are all equally amazing and will help support Albertans in need this season.
The Airdrie Food Bank is able to provide vital services and programs to the community because of the support from their community and partners. Last year, the Airdrie Food Bank fed 44,676 people in our community, 44% of those being children.
The CFB’s vision is a hunger-free community. They are the city’s main charitable food hub and the first line of support for anyone facing a food emergency.
The Veterans Association Food Bank
Provides assistance to those who were willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms and rights. Since opening in 2018, they’ve been able to provide food and support to over 500 Veterans and Veterans’ families.
WINS is a Calgary-based shopping alternative investing in the social well-being of the community. Operating five destination thrift stores and five Family Resource Centres, they help vulnerable women and their families live better lives.
Calgary & District Foster Parents Association (CFPA)
As a non-profit association, they are a membership of Foster and Kinship Parents, dedicated to supporting each other and advocating for the betterment of Children in Care. Not only do they provide support to Foster and Kinship families, but offer a number of activities for these children and their Foster families, among other initiatives.
By fostering economic stability, enhancing well-being, supporting mental health, and creating a sense of belonging, Trellis empowers thousands of people each year. These efforts help individuals break the cycle of poverty, overcome crises, and transition from isolation to connection within their communities.
If you are looking to purchase a new home, now is the perfect time to give back and spread joy to Albertans who need the support of our community.
